Hot-Buttered Rum
Adapted from Janet’s Aunt Mable.
- 3/4 c apple juice, divided
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 1/2 T butter
- 1/3 c dark rum
- generous sprinkling of nutmeg
Note: this is for one serving.
Heat 3/4 c of apple juice.
In each cup put the brown sugar and the butter, then stir in 1/4 c of the hot apple juice. Mix until the sugar is dissolved and the butter is melted.
Put the rum in the mug and add the remaining 1/2 c of boiling hot apple juice to it. Sprinkle generously with nutmeg and serve immediately.
